not getting anywhere

I called my grandmother and she didn't know any of the names you listed either. She did however tell me that my grandfather's (dad's father of course) mother's name was Mary Cunningham but could not recall his father's name (she said she'd get back with me on that (!!! smiles !!!) She told me that her father-in-law had died before she met my granddaddy. My daddy told me that his grandfather's name was Lee Cousar. He didn't recall a middle name and unfortunately, I didn't get a birth or death date. Don't worry though because my father knows a lot more than he is telling me (for some reason he has become more secretive with the passing time.)

I do know that my granddaddy Golather's brothers names are-
Wilbur (still living)
Ward (nickname maybe)
Linbug (nickname maybe)

he did have a sister although she died in I think 1991,
Carrol.

My grandfather and his siblings besides my Uncle Ward were all very fair colored skinned people. They had green and blue eyes. Grandaddy's eyes were green. My daddy says that my granddaddy was the splitting image of Lee Cousar (his father). I will get a picture of him (the only one I have though sadly to say, is his obituary) and send it to you via email. (that way you'll get it right away.) I know Carrol had green eyes also but I vaguely remember my uncle Wilbur. He resides in Charlotte, NC at this present time. I just barely got off the phone with my daddy and he told me that. I think I will call 411 (information) and see if I can get my uncle Wilbur's number. He won't remember me for sure but I know he knows my father.

I called my grandmother's house yesterday afternoon after recieving your email response and out of the excitement of our findings, I learned that my great-uncle Willie (his first name may be William but I am not so sure) B. Stroud died the day before (1 March 04). He did favour me amongst my other cousins for some reason, he said that I always had something to talk about and so did he! I know that he could have given me more info.

I'll see who is around your age so that we can possibly connect some of these ends because we both have to admit that we two are from different generations but we will somehow get through this all.

By the way, my daddy did tell me that his great-grandfather was from American Indian descent. (sorry about the spelling in this email; I don't know what I'd do without spell-check!!!! smiles !!!) He also said that it wasn't unusual for cousins to marry cousins in earlier times and he did know of quite a few Cousar-Mackey unions of matrimony. Some close to his age.

I think my father is between 44 and 46 years old. My mother is 41.
My uncle Wilbur has a daughter that is around the age of my father's first sister (from my grandmama) who is I think, 43 years old. I am not sure with the ages but I will get all of that info. for you today or as much as I can get.

As for the family reunion in Vegas this year, is there a registration? Could you let me know more about it. I live like 6 hours (or like my 390 miles plus or minus one mile from the front gate of our military base out here!) away from Vegas and could drive there. I would really like to attend.
