Trying to find my roots
Posted by Alisa <Alisa12390@cs.com> on Thu, 19 Feb 2004, in response to Hurst (Hust) Plantation, posted by Ruth Reeves on Wed, 12 Sep 2001
Hi, my name is ***** C. of Florida. Growing up I always heard of my family, on my fathers dad's side of the families, stories from along time ago. Hearing these stories got me to thinking, you know I really want to know and learn more about my family and where I come from. All I know about my family on that specific side of the famly is that we come from Georgia,we might have had a plantation, (most likely coton plantation) we were once rich and owned slaves, our Last name was Cowart, and that years ago we all moved down here to Miami Florida because the old president I think took over alote of property in Georgia including my relatives plantation . We had no money so we moved to Miami. Whoever is reading this, please read it over and over again and email me if you can find at least one bit of information. Thanks,*****
