origin of the Plantation where the Shanklins were in Texas.

I am trying to find the Plantation of origin of the Shanklin Family. Armstead and Virginia Shanklin were in slaved in Virginia. Then they moved to Texsas during slavery. We are looking for the plantation in Texas (and Virginia) they settled in Wharton county after slavery. Brought property1886. Children listed in 1870 cenus in wharton county. Where were they before wharton.
