Looking for Baldwin descendants

Posted by Shelda Baldwin Glover <sheldaucmad@aol.com> on Mon, 25 Jun 2001

Researchers:

I'm looking for Descendants of the Welches Creek Columbus County North Carolina "Baldwin" African-American Families, other surnames are Campbell, Swindell/Swindall,Moore,Smith, McCoy etc. The children of Frank b.1838 and Emily b.1872 are Mary Catherine, John, Ned,Thessa,Amy,Mahaley,Oscar,Crandal, and Rachel all born in the 1870s. Rachel was killed in a fire sometime in the mid 1920s. Oscar became a medical doctor and died at age 52 Feb.8,1930. Mary Catherine m. Isaac B. Meares. Crandal became a school teacher at the local "Indian School" he never married to my knowledge or had children (?). Often times times stories are passed down through oral history and then you find evidence that this was not so. So anything could be possible. If you have sure connections please feel free to email me at sheldaucmad@aol.com
Thanks!!
