I am happy to say that my father and his father, etc. came from the Narrows, Rich Creek area on the WVA-VA border and is near Norfolk. We are caucasion and in the late 1700's all of the help were given their freedom. Most continued to live on the plantation and the family sufferred severly prior to the civil war for our position on slavery. If I may assist you further please let me know.
