African American Street Family Connection

Posted by Gerry mStewart <gstewart@twcny.rr.com> on Thu, 16 Oct 2003

I am a descendant of the STREET family in Wilmington, N.C. My GGrandfather name was Cass Moore Street born about 1862-1863. He married Elsie Bryant born about 1870 in NC/SC? Of this union were born ten children; Robert, Duke,Amanda(My Grandmother born in 1894)Martha, Marsden(Maulsby) Lutisha, James, Dora, Cass, and Jack. We were told that the family is of African American/Cherokee heritage. Trying to trace is Slaveholders "Street" of Halifax Virgina in 1850-1860 have any connection to my family line. Would like any information out there to follow up.
