Salih Bilali and Bilali are definitively distinguished and described to a fair extent in my African Muslims in Antebellum America: A Sourcebook, 1985, and a bit less so in my African Muslims in Antebellum America: Trans-Atlantic Stories and Spiritual Struggles, 1997. Dr. Allan D. Austin
