Shaw and Johnson

Posted by June DeBeal Critchlow <jdebeal@yahoo.com> on Sat, 19 Apr 2003, in response to SHAW-JOHNSON, posted by Kathleen Stewart on Fri, 10 Jan 2003

Hi, this is June.

I am not sure whether I got back with you. I have been dealing with some problems.

Back to my research.

I have a few questions to ask you. Were any of your family members in the Civil War. slaves? And if so which states and did they have other family members, names, ages.

I believe some Johnsons came from Louisiana, TX, and other states. Johnson being such a common name. I have been making contacts with people on the other line that I am researching, which is Beal, Forman, Foreman, Barnett. States TX, Ky, N.c., VA, OK, LA, MO. Presently I am at a standstill. I am going to research for Military Records under Johnson, next time I go to Washington, D.C.

Do you have any Thomas, George, Willie, Mattie, Loraine, Charles, Robert Johnson in you research. Any in California.

Just reaching for straws.

Sorry to be so long in replying.

June
