African American Cousar

Posted by Alice Cousar <Cousar3@att.net> on Sun, 02 Feb 2003, in response to African American Cousar, Couser, Cousart, Cousert, etc. of Lancaster, SC, posted by Margie Cousar Outing on Wed, 11 Jul 2001

I am sorry I never saw this message earlier. I am descendant of a Cayce Cousar born 9/1/ 1845 of Lancaster, SC. He married Charlotte Lollie Clark, born 4/1/ 1852. I am still shaking the family tree. Cayce C. Cousar had a brother William, but then they had very large families and most of the brothers and sisters named their children after family members. I have inventories and property appraisals resulting in the death of the slave owner John Cousar, who was a Minister. Let me know if you believe you are a part of this family. There has been a family reunion annually for the past 17 years hosted by various members in different states. There was a book produced about the Clark side of this family, the family historian that produced this book passed away 2001 and I am trying to pick up where he left off.
