Suzanne Lévesque, known to most of us as genleves and to some of us as GFS Suzanne or HOST GFS Suzanne, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2005.

Suzanne was unique to our forum as she was the first (and I believe the only) HOST we ever had that did not live in the United States. She lived in Canada, which was especially helpful since she specialized in French Canadian genealogy and was an active member of our Team Canada, hosting our Quebec chats at least twice a week.

In addition to her hosting duties, Suzanne was instrumental in translating information from English to French for our Internet Center's Quebec links, aided in designing several webpages for this website, authored numerous articles for the GenealogyForum News and created all of the GenealogyForum FunFotos pages

I was fortunate to meet Suzanne in Providence, RI at the NGS Conference In The States in June, 2000, and to work closely with her on many forum projects over the years. She was dedicated to her family, and was especially proud of her grandchildren.

Suzanne had been a chat host for six and a half years before our forum left AOL. Her former hosting profile says this in her own words:
Genealogy is more than a hobby for me; it has been passion for the last 15 years. Joining AOL added a whole new dimension to my research. Through my web page, I have found second and third cousins I never knew existed before and kept me in contact with my first cousins who live far away.
