From The Mailbag

 

 In response to last month's mailbag:

I just received the following response from NARA with regard to three (pension, land, and military), War of 1812, requests, that I mailed May 27, 2000. I thought I would share it with the list, in the event that someone else is waiting for their ancestors records. Patience is the name of the game!!!

Due to staff shortages and the ongoing renovation of the National Archives Building, we currently have an 9,000 inquiry backlog. We are working on the requests as quickly as we can. You should be hearing from us very soon.
