Join us in a very special chat with John Movius, professional genealogist, president of the Federation of East European Family History Societies (FEEFHS). John will speak on "Solving Problems in Central and East European Genealogy using the FEEFHS Web Portal". FEEFHS's scope covers all European and Soviet genealogy including Armenia, Azerbijan and Turkey, but excluding France,England, Norway and Italy.

John Movius, President of FEEFHS since 1996, was a FEEFHS co-founder, is founding Webmaster of the pioneer FEEFHS Web Portal, manages the FEEFHS web server at http://www.feefhs.org and is chairman of the 1999 FEEFHS Convention at Van Nuys, (LA County) CA - see http://feefhs.org/conf/99la/99la-hp.html (This link is no longer active.)

As a professional genealogist, he is a member of the Associationof Professional Genealogists (APG) and the Council of Genealogical Columnists (CGC). Mr. Movius is a co-founder/founding vice President of UGGS (Utah Germanic Genealogy Society), a co-founder/founding chairman of the FEEFHS Salt Lake City Chapter (1999), and a member of numerous other genealogy societies in North America and Europe.

A graduate of Stevens Institute of Technology and a Stanford-Sloan Executive Fellow, Mr. Movius is a former aerospace research engineer and aerospace executive.

In computing he is a board member of "Blue Chips" (Utah PC Users Group) and founding Ambassador of AUGU (Adobe Users Group of Utah). He served as tech consultant to the Uman-Davis Sister Cities Project to solve Ukraine modem problems and established the 1st eMail service between Davis California and Uman, Ukraine.

Mr. Movius lectures and is a problem-solver in Germanic, Central and East European genealogy, the Internet, Web and Y2K topics.
