My Father

While I have gotten credit for being the family genealogist, my father is the TRUE family researcher. He inspired me to do my own genealogy by showing me a book of pedigree charts and newspaper clippings when I was 12 years old. He'd been tracing our own family tree for years (and this was BEFORE the Internet!). He funded my trips to the Salt Lake Family History Library when I attended college near there. He hired a professional genealogist at one point when we needed someone who could read Swedish. He has been tireless in his efforts to discover our family tree and my heritage has been richer for it.

Right now, Dad is 70 years old and I wish him a joyous and happy Father's Day.

Below is a picture of him at the age of 5. That blond hair comes from our Swedish "Matson" line.
