Letter #1

Hi,

I'm looking for anyone who is a family member of the Lancaste family. My husband has 12 brother and sisters. His dad died Oct 15, 1998. We know his dad has family members out there and we would like to know them better. So if you or anyone can help us that would be great. Thank you

Letter #2

A place where we got some info on the Civil War was the archives at the University of California at Chico. My brother-in-law sent us copies of the first census of the U.S. in Richmond, VA. He also sent copies of the meeting notes of the Confederate Congress when my Great Grandfather tried to get a Generalship. He was refused 3-4 times so he quit the military and came to Oregon, married and was a sutler to a fort in eastern Oregon.

Letter #3

Hi Carol,

I'm doing research on family from the Ukraine which I believe is German from their name,Bronstein. Our history goes back to 1861,but I heard that many Germans moved to Russia around the time that the German states were organized into 1 country. Can you shed any light on this? They were Jewish fish peddlers in Elizabethgrad!

Thanx Dennis Brown

LOL I only know Carol well enough to HUG real hard ...... I wrote Carol a note today and then I said to myself; "Self". "Tell dem folk they do good work"!

You are an awesome team. Your dedication and hard work produces a great reading and eye catching piece of work every month. As generators of a Weekly Newsletter ourselves we know the pain you go through every month. But I also know and every finger-print on the keyboard, those red eyes and that back ache is worth every ounce of effort when you see your words or the words of others portrait so many neat thoughts and ideas and generally good advice.

A good receipe, a funny story, an account that brings a tear to your eye :-0 And the feedback you get. The thank you's, the note from the little 84 year old lady that can't get out too much anymore and turns on her computer every week on Sunday night and waits for that email to come so she can pour over the words and read them to her husband who can't see to well anymore. That just makes my heart soar, my eyes tear up a little and I smile a lot.....

You're bringing a little bit of "light" to many lives. It makes you a more gentle and caring person toward those around you and brings a confidence in your stride, and you lift your head up more!

I and my trusty compadres in the Civil War SIG raise our hands and applaud you and your efforts. Your treatment of our "Fireside" material has blossumed our SIG into a "Giant" extended family for us and we love ya for it.....

From Jayne, Tom, Amy and myself we give you honor and a big Thank You! May your Christmas Season be overflowing with family and good memories and it is our wish that "God Just Hug the Puddin' Out of You"!!!!!

Merry Christmas
& A Happy New Year :)
