German & Eastern Europe

Submitted by GFS Susanne@aol.com

On Tuesday afternoons from 2pm to 3pm, (EST), you can find the German/Eastern Europe SIG (Special Interest Group) in the Ancestral Digs Golden Gates Forum Chat Room.

The hosts are there to help guide you through basic genealogical research in the US, Germany, and Eastern Europe. They can provide you with an insight to the history of your research area as well. This SIG is hosted by GFS Susanne and GFS Teresa, both with genealogical experience for Germany as well as parts of Eastern Europe, particularly Ukraine and Slovakia for GFSSusanne, and Croatia for GFS Teresa. The SIG was actually set up as the German afternoon SIG genealogy...but can cover all of Eastern/Central Europe...Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Hungary, Ukraine, Croatia (which means Yugoslavia), Russia, not much in the Baltics, nothing in Romania, a bit of Italy at times; Switzerland has never come up.

All are welcomed to join in each week where you will find lots of help for your research, meet new friends, and have a great time.
