From tjstam@cs.com This is a picture of my maternal great-great grandfather Charles Henry Goering. Grandmother says he invented this sort of multi-leaf table, but since he lived into the 20th century, I doubt it. Its more likely that he sold these in his store. The table is a typical salesman's sample size. He was born 10 Sep 1876 in Dallas, Marion, Iowa and died 5 Nov 1931 in Emporia, Lyon, Kansas. He married Estelle Mae Phillips and they had only one child Frances Irene Goering, my mother's grandmother.
