WACKY ANCESTOR PHOTO CONTEST

From: ChuckBobo@aol.com

When I got a copy of this photo, I thought it was a hoax. It was a photo of my grandfather and great uncles and close kin in the BOBO Band at about the turn of the century. In all of my research I had never found any evidence that any one of them could play a band instrument. I had planned to send it in as a big hoax. My family includes a lot of fun-loving jokesters, so I thought this might be one of their jokes.

Then I found a cousin who is older than I, if that is possible. She remembers stories of the band playing and that her father played the cornet. My grandfather played the drum, according to this photo. I was five years old when he died. I spent a lot of time with him at his general store and at home, and I never heard of him playing with anything but me. I think I turned out to be the wackiest of the two of us. I now am trying to compare this with other old photos to identify all the band members. They all look normal to me, but appearances sometimes fool.
