Chicken Casserole

8 slices of bread
3/4 tsp. salt
2 C. diced, cooked Chicken or Turkey
dash of pepper
1/2 c. chopped onion
2 slightly beaten eggs
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
1 1/2 cups of milk
1/2c. finely chopped celery
1 can of condensed cream of mushroom soup
1/2c. Mayonnaise
1/2 c. shredded cheese

Butter 2 slices bread; cut in 1/2 in. cubes set aside. Cut remaining bread in 1 in. cubes; place half of non buttered cubes in bottom of 8x8x2 in. baking dish. Combine chicken, Vegetable/Fruit Dishes/Fruit, mayonnaise, and seasonings. Spoon over bread cubes. Sprinkle remaining non buttered cubes over chicken mixture.

Combine eggs milk; pour over all. Cover chill 1 hour or over night. Spoon soup over top. Sprinkle with buttered cubes. Bake in slow oven (325º degrees) 50 minutes or till set. Sprinkle cheese over top the last few minutes of baking.
