The Puerto Rican / Hispanic Genealogical Society

The Puerto Rican/Hispanic Genealogical Society was founded in New York by a group of dedicated genealogists and family historians, who are helping to preserve their Puerto Rican/Hispanic Roots. Let us help you find relatives across the ocean, so you may pass on your proud heritage to future generations. The Puerto Rican/Hispanic Genealogical Society is an organization dedicated to bringing together and assisting persons that are researching their family history. Our main goals are:


1. To learn, Understand and preserve our heritage.
   
   
2. To provide a forum for sharing information and sharing research techniqiues.
   
   
3. To offer classes and seminars to our members for the purpose of developing research skills.
   
   
4. To work to open availability of civil and church records.
   
   
5. To collect and publish genealogical and historical research materials.
   
   
6. Encourage and promote a firm sense of identity to our Hispanic Youth.
   
   

MEMBERSHIP ENTITLEMENTS
With your membership you will receive a newsletter "EL COQUI DE AYER," which is published six times a year and is full of valuable information. There will be monthly meetings with speakers on specific topics relating to Puerto Rican/Hispanic Genealogical research. We will also be offering help sessions to help enhance your Genealogical skills. We will be publishing a surname list, so that you can find others that are researching the same names. With membership you will also get a Research toolkit containing various aids and resources specific to Puerto Rican/Hispanic research.

Annual dues are $20 for individuals or $30 for families.
