The Municipal District of Acadia Valley is west of the Alberta - Saskatchewan border and north of the Red Deer River. Highway 41 runs from near the southeast corner of the MD to near the northwest corner. The town of Acadia Valley is in the central area. Empress is on the south east corner while Sibbald on highway #9 is on the north. Alsask is located on both sides of the provincial border at the northwest corner of the Municipal District.
Acadia Valley Municipal District GenWebAirdrie has recently expanded at an extremely fast rate and is now a city. Their genealogical information base is still relatively small but should be rapidly growing. A lot of their information will be found through the MD of Rocky View GenWeb page.
Airdrie City GenWebBanff National Park extends along the Alberta British Columbia border. On the south is Peter Lougheed Provincial Park. On the British Columbia side of the border is Kootenay National Park and Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park.. Jasper National Park is located north of Banff. On the East side of the park part of the Rocky Mountain Forest Reserve is located. The Municipal District of Bighorn is located east of Banff National Park and north of the Improvement District of Kananaskis.

Brazeau County GenWebThe County of Camrose includes the City of Camrose and Towns,Villages, and Hamlets of Armena, Bashaw, Bawlf, Bittern lake, Duhamel, Edberg, Ferintosh, Haylakes, Kelsey, Kingman, Meeting Creek, New Norway, Ohaton, Rosalind, Roundhill, and Tillicum Beach . It is approximately 95 kilometers long, running north to south, and 60 kilometers wide at it's widest point running west to east. The Battle river flows through the center of the county.
Camrose County GenWebCardston County was officially organized the 1st of January 2000 replacing the former Municipal District of Cardston Number 6 but the town of Cardston and the other communities in the new county have a much longer history.
Cardston County GenWebThe Municipal District of Clearwater and extended areas to the west of the MD are included in this GenWeb. The area is located on the eastern slopes of The Rocky Mountain Forest Reserve.
Clearwater Municipal District GenWebThis GenWeb site covers the Town of Drumheller and the surrounding area to the east, right through to the Saskatchewan border. This area used to be divided into three areas known as Alberta Special Areas #2, #3, and #4.
Drumheller Municipal District GenWebThe East Peace Gen Web covers the area of the MD of East Peace #131. It includes the village of Nampa and the communities of Marie Reine, St. Isidore, Reno, Cadotte Lake, Little Buffalo, Three Creeks, Wesley Creek, Harmon Valley and Springburn, as well as the town of Peace River.
East Peace Municipal District GenWebWhen this area was homesteaded (1900-1914), local improvement Districts were formed, which then joined together to form Municipal Districts. The smaller municipal districts of Carbon, Norquay, Stauffer, and Roach (later named Ghost Pine) were joined together in 1944 to form the Municipal District of Kneehill. Kneehill is bordered by the county of Mountain View on the west, Red Deer River on the east, the county of Red Deer on the north and the county of Wheatland on the south. The City of Drumheller is on its southeast border.
Kneehill Municipal District GenWebLac Ste Anne County is west of Sturgeon County and the cities of Edmonton and St Albert, in Alberta, Canada.
Lac Ste. Anne County GenWebLocated in northwest Alberta, the Muncipal District of Mackenzie No. 23 includes the area from the B.C. border to the Wood Buffalo National Park and from the Buffalo Head Hills to the N.W.T. border including the hamlets of Fort Vermilion, La Crete, and Zama.
Mackenzie Municipal District GenWebMountain View is situated about 14 miles west and south of Cardston. In 1890 this district was called "Fish Creek."
Mountain View GenWebParkland County is immediately west of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Parkland County does not include the village of Parkland, which is south of Calgary, and about 400 km south of Parkland County.
Parkland County GenWebThe MD of Peace #135 was formed in 1916 and incorporated January 2, 1917, with it's office in West Peace River, moving to the Bear Lake settlement in 1920, and on to it's present location of Berwyn about 1922. It is a rural municipality that is mainly farmland including the towns of Peace River (pop 6600), Grimshaw (pop 2800), Berwyn (pop 660) and Brownvale. The rural population is 1,561.
Peace Municipal District GenWebThe Municipal District of Rocky View encompass an area which is approximately bordered on the north by highway 27 (6 miles north), on the west about 12 miles west of highway 22, on the southwest by the Elbow River, in the south central area by the city of Calgary, in the southeast by the Bow River, in the east along a line 6 miles east of highway 26. The County of Red Deer is to the north, the M.D. of Knee Hill and the County of Wheatland are on the east side, the M.D. of and the Sarcee Indian Reservation are neighbors to the south, The Stoney Indian Reservation and local Improvement Districts 8, 10, 50 are between it and the Rocky Mountains.
Rocky View Municipal District GenWebSpecial Area 4 is in the dry belt of south-eastern Alberta, south of Provost County. Communities include Altario, Consort, Compeer, Cousins, Ensleigh, Hemaruka, Idamay, Kirriemuir, Little Gem, Lloyds Hill, Loyalist, Monitor, Neutral Valley, Pemukan, Sounding Lake, Veteran, and Wiste.
Special Area 4 GenWebStarland County includes the hamlets of Rumsey, Rowley, Michichi and Craigmyle. Also included in this area are the Villages of Morrin, Munson and Delia which are separate municipalities in their own right.
Starland County GenWebThe County of Stettler includes the town of Stettler, Alberta the hamlets of Byemoor, Endiang, Erskine, Nevis, and Red Willow; the villages of Big Valley, Botha, Donalda, Gadsby and the summer villages of Rochon Sands and White Sands.
Stettler County GenWebStrathcona County is located just east of the City of Edmonton. It is bounded by the Counties of Lamont and Beaver to the east, the County of Leduc to the south, the City of Edmonton to the west and the County of Sturgeon to the north. Strathcona County includes the city of Fort Saskatchewan and the urban center of Sherwood Park as well as the hamlets and smaller communities of Ardrossan, South & North Cooking Lake, Antler Lake, Half Moon Lake, Hastings Lake, Josephburg, and Collingwood Cove.
Strathcona County GenWebSturgeon County is located in central Alberta and borders the Cities of Edmonton and St. Albert to the south, and the City of Fort Saskatchewan and the County of Strathcona to the east.
St. Albert & Sturgeon County GenWebThe City of Wetaskiwin and Wetaskiwin County are south of Edmonton.
Wetaskiwin County GenWebThe County of Wheatland, Alberta, is bordered on the north by the Municipal District of Kneehill. The Red Deer River runs south-easterly on the eastern side of the County. The County of Newell lies to the south east, The Bow River forms the southern boundary while the Municipal District of Rocky View lies to the west. Neighbouring counties: North - Kneehill, Badlands; South - Vulcan; East - Special Area 2, Newell; West - Rockyview.
