- James MacLaren and the Brudenell Pioneers of 1803
Almost two hundred years ago, a small band of pioneers led by James MacLaren sailed from Scotland and eventually made their way to Prince Edward Island, Canada. James MacLaren brought his own family as well as others to settle on the land bordering the Brudenell River. Other families that came with him included Gordons, Stewarts, Robertsons and MacFarlanes.- Sir Andrew Macphail Homestead Home Page
Our purpose is to honour and acknowledge the contribution of Sir Andrew Macphail to our heritage.- Pioneer Life on Prince Edward Island
The following notes, written by my 2nd cousin, twice removed, Jessie Rosina (Norton) Beck, gives a very interesting account of pioneer life on Prince Edward Island, not only applicable to the Norton family, but to all early families on P.E.I.- Red River Valley
Many of the families in this site originated in England, Scotland, and Ireland and came to the northwest corner of Minnesota by way of Prince Edward Island, Canada. Others came directly from those origins, as well as, Germany, Sweden, Norway and other European countries.WEBMASTER'S NOTE: Internet addresses shown in this document may change without notice.
