14th Annual German Genealogy Conference
June 23 - 24, 2006
Des Moines, Iowa

The 14th Annual German Conference,
sponsored by the German Interest Group of the Iowa Genealogical Society
will be held Sat. Jun 24, 2006 at the Des Moines Botanical Center.

The speaker will be James M. Beidler,
a noted writer, lecturer and researcher.
He is a native of Pennsylvania and a columnist
for the Pennsylvania Heritage and German Life magazines.

There will be four sessions on Saturday
with short breaks between sessions
and a little time to visit or look at the displays.
Lunch is included
and the Botanical displays are open
to those that attend at no extra charge.

For those that choose to come early,
there will be a Friday evening session from 7-9 p.m.
at no extra charge which is also open to the public.
It will be at the Iowa Genealogical Library,
which is at 628 E. Grand Ave. across from the Iowa Historical Library.
The topic is "What is a Palatine Anyway?"
This is all about the area of Germany that was an emigrant hotbed for three centuries.

We invite all to have a look at the German section of the library holdings.
There is a large collection of German resources,
much of which was made possible through the efforts of the German Interest Group.

The Botanical Center is handicap accessible and parking is free.
