Can I Hire Some Online Help?

Can I hire some online help?

The focus of GenealogyForum.com is to provide research assistance to train you to do your own family tree climbing. Therefore, no one should offer to do research for a fee on this site or on one of our message boards.

However, you will find lots of exciting LIVE discussions by consulting our message boards. Perhaps you'll even find a new cousin online, who is willing to share his / her research with you! Our chats used to have about five or six such BINGOs every day! Amazing how people end up being in the right place at the right time!

Professional Genealogists may elect to post links to their own websites in our Internet Center under the topics of "Genealogy Services" or "Commercial Sites." We also permit professional genealogists to state their credentials in any files they donate to our library or in articles they submit to the GenealogyForum News. If you wish to hire someone, you may certainly look in these areas. You are advised to use caution, since we can not guarantee the quality of the services or the reliability of the advertisers.

If you do decide you wish to hire a professional genealogist, we recommend contacting the National Genealogical Society for a information on certified genealogists, and the LDS Family History Library for a list of accredited genealogists. LDS also has an excellent free brochure titled "HIRING A PROFESSIONAL GENEALOGIST." This explains contracts, what you must provide, and what you can expect for your research dollars.
