2 CONT         If this is Frank Sr. father, he would have been 33 when he had Frank,
2 CONT which is reasonable since Frank was youngest of three. It also means he
2 CONT would have been in his late 20's for the Civil war.

1 NOTE    !Also another possibility. 1910 Spokane census for Frank Sr. says his
2 CONT father was from Kentucky and his mother was from Virginia. Dad used to
2 CONT say that he thought his grandmother was a "Bowen of Kentucky"  Could he
2 CONT have mis-heard.?  (Since Elizabeth remarried, after Fielding left for the
2 CONT Colorado gold fields, to a Bowen, it would make sense that Grandfather
2 CONT (Frank/Fielding) would have thought that his grandmother was a Bowen.
2 CONT He was three when she remarried.

2 CONT for the north in the 'war', my great-grandfather fought for the
2 CONT 'south'...however, he was a member of the Missouri State Guard, which
2 CONT was later absorbed by the Confederacy.  He was captured twice.  The
2 CONT first time, he went to prison and served a short time in Alton, IL.  The
2 CONT second time, he escaped.

2 CONT Elizabeth McDowell is the daughter of John and Phoebe (Phebe?)
2 CONT (Franklin) McDowell.  Phoebe's father was Edward Franklin.  John's
2 CONT parents were Ephraim McDowell and Elizabeth (Agnes?) Burns.  This
2 CONT information came from an ancestor chart compiled by a Charles
2 CONT McDowell, 2210 N. Kilpatrick, Chicago, IL  60639, dated 5-19-88. (this
2 CONT would probably account for all the Phoebe's, Elizabeth's, and Franklin's
2 CONT we have popping up everywhere in our 'tree')  Also on this chart is George
2 CONT McDowell who apparently is the son of John (and brother to Elizabeth
2 CONT Boley)  and under George is Julius Ephraim McDowell.  And his son is
2 CONT Amos McDowell, died 1950, Padadena Texas (which I would assume is the
2 CONT father of the compiler).
1 NOTE   Fielding went to the Goldrush in Colorado in 1858 and never returned.
1 NOTE In 1870 Elizabeth re-married  a John Bowen in Little Compton, Carroll
2 CONT Co., Mo.
2 CONT    Grandfather Frankl (Fielding) Bouley would have been three at the time
2 CONT and this would account for the stories dad told. ie: "I believe dads mother

2 CONT I also have a copy of a hand-written document stating Ephraim McDowell
2 CONT served in the Revolutionary War, Somerset (?) County Militia in New
2 CONT Jersey, 1781-1784. "Family tradition says that he left New Jersey about
2 CONT 1800, first to North Carolina, then to Tenn. near Galliton(?).  Indians
2 CONT came and burned everything, records, etc.  His wifes name was Mary
2 CONT Burns.  Had about 15 children.  A son Matthew was about 9 years old
2 CONT when the indians came." (the above story is from the paper I have, not
2 CONT personal knowledge)
