Pedigree of the holders of the manor of Scrivelsby who by that ownership are the Hereditary Champions of the Crown of England. The Champion at the coronation banquet rides into the hall wearing the King's second best suit of armour and riding his second best horse and throws down the gauntlet in the name of the new king as a challenge to any rivals for the throne. In modern times the Champion carries the Standard of England at the Coronation.
