2 CONT Joseph and his family brought a fiddle with them from Germany and that it 
2 CONT had been passed down to other family members. Bill's father, Robert, 
2 CONT played it and passed it on to Bill who gave it to one of his daughters.

2 NOTE  The voyage of Christian Traffedstatt originated in Rotterdam and included 
3 CONT a stopover in Wales. The ship landed in Philadelphia and the passengers 
3 CONT qualified the day they arrived. Christian Traffenstatt's name is found on 
3 CONT the passenger list of the "Two Brothers."

3 CONT  The only other record of Christian Traffenstatt in Penssylvania is a copy 
3 CONT of his naturalization papers, filed with the Supreme Court in 
3 CONT Philadelphia. The date was 9 October 1765 and he was living in MacCurgy 
3 CONT Township, Northampton Co. at the time. Soon after, he moved the family to 
3 CONT N.C. His name can be found on a land deed as a witness for one Samuel 
3 CONT Derimer, dated 14 July 1767.
