Will of Zephaniah Smith Devereux, dated March 29, 1882


I, Smith Deveraux of Reedsburg, Sauk County, Wisconsin being of sane and disposing mind and memory and mindful of the uncertainty of human life, do make, declare and publish this my last will and testament-in the manner following:

1st. I will and direct that so soon as may be after my death that my just debts and funeral expenses be paid.

Second. I give devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife, Rachel A. Deveraux all the estate of which I may die siezed both real and personal of every name and nature to her & her heirs forever.

Third. I hereby nominate and appoint my said wife Rachel A. Deveraux the executrix of this my last will and testament and do request that upon the settlement of my said estate my said executrix be no required to give any bonds as such executrix.

Hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 29th day of March AD 1882.

The above and foregoing will and testament was signed by said testator in our presence and by him declared to be his last will and testament. And we signed said instrument as witnesses at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other.
