Records extracted by me, Lisa Mitchell, from the Minutes of the Court of Orange NC 1772-1782. Records were written in a small book, about the size of a 5 x 7 photo, in small penmanship. Extractions are as near as I was possibly able to read. At one point the writer appears to have used a quill with a dull nub, creating a more difficult chore in extraction. Where I had some doubt as to spelling I recorded the surname with the possibility of another spelling. No monthly dates are listed, though occasionally a number, such as “20” might appear adjacent to an entry. Years are not designated either, though some entries do list it.
