Non-Cupative Will of John Russell, dated August 26, 1633



John Russell merchant disceased att Dorchestr August 26th & before his death being of a disposeing vnderstanding, did make his last will, in the presence of Mr. John Warham Pastr of the church of Dorchestr Tho: Moore, John Moore, & Tho: Deway in the words followeing or to the same effect.

Halfe of my estate I giue to the church of Dorchestr & halfe to my brothers Henry Russell & Thomas Hyatt, except my mans tyme, wch I giue to my man, & hee desired that in the disposeing of his goods to Dorchestr, there should be espetiall respect hadd to olde Dorchestr people nameing Goodm Caping.

This was testifyed vpon oathes of the said witnesses taken in Court Septr 3 1633

    A Court holden att Boston Sept 3 1633.
There is administracon graunted to Willm Gallard & Willm Rockwell of the goods and chattels of John Russell of Rocksbury Dorchester whoe disceased August 26th



    A Court holden at New Towne June 3 1634.
By consent of Willm Gallerd admstratr to John Russell & Robte ffibbin it is ordered that in consideracon of some service pformed att Sea by the said Robte Fibbin & 3 monthes servis in Newe England, that the said Robte Fibbin shalbe sett free, & haue 1l 13s 5d forgiuen him wch hee ought to his said maistr John Russell./



    Att the Court holden att Newe Towne August 4th 1635.
Willm Gallerd & Willm Rockwell executors of John Russell hath exhibited into Court an Inventory of the goods & chattells of the said John Russell disceased.
