Will of Jeremiah Leaming, Jr., New Haven, CT,
dated 7 Jul 1804
In the name of God Amen: I Jeremiah Leaming of New Haven in the County of New Haven & State of Connecticut, being infirm in body but of sound mind & memory do ordain & make this my last Will & Testament.
First I assign my soul into the hands of God who created me, humbly hoping for a blessed immortality through the merits & mediation of Jesus Christ our Redeemer & Savior.
I give & bequeath to my my friend Mrs. Mary Hillhouse of sd New Haven two hundred & fifty Dollars.
I also give & bequeath to my friend the Rev Bela Hubbard One Hundred Dollars.
I also give & bequeath to my niece Ann Kemp of Norwalk my silver watch.
I also give to Judah Leaming my nephew a silver watch unless I should give him an equivalent before my death.
I give & bequeath to Nancy Stockwell, who now lives with me, One Hundred Dolars, my Andirons, shovel & tongs & my two beds & bed-steads, also my small looking glass, two silver table spoons & seven silver teaspoons.
And I do hereby constitute & appoint William Hillhouse Esqr of New Haven aforesd Executor of this my last Will & Testament, Hereby revoking all former Wills by me made.
Dated at New Haven this 7th day of July AD One Thousand Eight Hundred & four.
